A great little essay on the living in otherworldly conditions, lack of contact and entertainment, and the implications of practicing medicine with minimal supplies.

Sheyna Gifford is currently about half way through her one year stint in sMars, an isolated living environment in Hawaii meant to simulate living on an offworld colony. She has not felt the wind on her face for over a year. Here, she muses on the things she didn’t realise she would miss.
